One year ago today my friends and I left for England. But I won't think about that. I won't think about that. I won't think about that. OK, self-hypnosis doesn't work.
What I will think about is how fun this past weekend was. Hubby and I went on a date. Yippee! And we went furniture shopping on our date, absolutely my favorite thing to do together! Double yippee! We went here:
And here:
And here:
And here:
We didn't buy anything, but it was still alot of fun. Then on Saturday, was my long-awaited (by myself, it was just normal for everyone else) bookclub. Ever since I saw the movie Marie Antoinette I thought it would be fun to have a party that celebrated her decadence. I realize that by admitting that I wanted to throw a party is tantamount to admitting that I didn't understand the point of the movie, (that Marie Antoinette's extravagant lifestyle might have lead to her death)but, honestly, I didn't care. So, I picked The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette for my book and never looked back.
This is what I was going for:
This is what I came up with:
I asked the bookclub members to wear fabulous shoes... (Mine are the pink plaid)
And some even went further than that.
But, I had a great time. It was so much fun to plan and execute. Hmm..maybe I shouldn't use that word while talking about Marie Antoinette.

HOW FUN!!!!! Everything looked beautiful!!! I am SO sad to have missed it!!
It was REALLY so fun and beautiful. Thanks for all your hard work. It was a lovely afternoon.
Oh ya - and I LOVE Z Gallerie. I haven't been there since we moved here. Maybe I'll need to follow your lead and hit it up on our next date night.
Yeah for Marie Antoinette! Any excuse for decadence, I say! It was soooo beautiful and fun. As usual, pictures don't do it justice. Thanks for everything. It was lovely.
It looks so gorgeous! I'm bummed I missed it! Glad you all had such a lovely time, though. :)
It felt like I was living in the book. It was really fun to see it all come together especially knowing how hard you worked to make everything perfect.
Very beautiful!! You out did yourself Katrina! Looks like so much fun. I hope I can some day get the bookclub I started here to that point....
How lovely and fun! Great job with the decorative touches.
I'm so sad I missed. :( I don't think I've made it to one of your book clubs. Next year....I promise!
I got here from Tip Junkie's post about the book club! I loved what you did ! What is the color that your dining room is painted? I LOVE that color!

First of all, thanks for coming by today! Wow, your party is amazing. What more can I say!? It is lovely and you outdid yourself with creativity.
Love it!

It all looks so beautiful! I've said it before, and I'll say it again... 'I think I am in the wrong book club!'
Glad you all had such a gloriously pampered luncheon.
I love your new header (is that what those things at the top are called?) It's so you, how nice that you could use something that you made. YKWIM?
That really is such a fabulous color! Thank you so much for the most beautiful afternoon. I needed it more than you can imagine. You have such a gift for transforming things into their true beauty. All the little details made me feel so loved and special. Thanks for your friendship - I cherish it.
When's our next movie?
AWWWW I wish I could have come!!! I love M.A. and I spy a mirrored chest from Z gallerie, right? I just placed one like that - the dresser one in a client's bedroom!
Oh wow! What a genius idea! I love the "fabulous" shoes and hair!
