My "Must See" List Keeps Growing

My friend and I spent two beautiful, extremely hot days in Frisco, my favorite little getaway. After having a house full of kids in June and July, I totally deserved it. While having a blast shopping and finding Italian-inspired cafes, we saw Brideshead Revisited. What a beautiful movie.

Castle Howard in North Yorkshire, England, of course.

It's also set in Oxford and Venice. They had shots of Oxford that made me drool. I'm definitely hitting that spot next time I'm in Old Blighty.

Word of warning, though. I didn't like the book, and the movie storyline was even worse, somewhat demonizing the main character.

(And how can you demonize this?)

But, if you don't mind the plot, and lots of naked bums, then rush right out a see it with my blessing!

For you local gals, we went to my new favorite store called The Iron Bed. Their selection is breathtaking. And they were very nice to give a poor woman some water for her hiccups.

In case you were worried, hubby would be in full support of your shopping here, as it is very expensive and didn't seem to have any real deals. But, how can you put a pricetag on heaven?

The cute little cafe we found is called Main Street Bakery and Bistro. It was so cute and reminded me alot of little Italian cafes. The food was yummy, too.

All in all a relaxing vacay. Too fun. Too short.

Sounds like a lovely weekend! I so need to do something like that myself. However, 3 kids going back to school in 3 weeks may be just the break I need. :)

Oh, I'm so glad you got a little time to yourself. We missed you at Education Week, for sure! I'm super jealous you got to see the movie. It's not playing anywhere here. I'll have to wait till Texas, I guess.

Hmmm, shopping in a place like that would give me hiccups too! Beautiful.
